Israeli Strikes in Lebanon Kill Dozens Amid Hezbollah Conflict
Overnight, one raid in a town in the eastern Bekaa Valley—an area central to the escalating conflict—left at least 41 people dead and 40 more injured, according to Lebanese health authorities. Among the deceased were three Lebanese soldiers, while locals also reported civilian casualties, including children.
The mission in the town of Nabi Chit was reportedly aimed at recovering the remains of an Israeli airman who went missing in Lebanon four decades ago.
On Saturday, residents noted a freshly dug grave in the corner of the town cemetery. “They thought he was there but there was nothing,” one local man said, gesturing to the empty plot.
