Lebanese Journalist Get Murdered in Israeli Strike

(MENAFN) A Lebanese journalist was killed after an Israeli strike hit an area in Lebanon while she was on assignment, according to statements from the Red Cross cited by reports on Wednesday.

Earlier, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency said that Israeli forces were surrounding two journalists, Amal Khalil and Zeinab Faraj, and were preventing both the Lebanese army and the Red Cross from reaching them.

The report added that emergency access to the area was initially blocked during the incident.

Khalil was later confirmed dead, while Faraj was reported to have been injured and required medical treatment.

The incident comes amid continued hostilities in Lebanon, where officials say the conflict has led to large-scale casualties and displacement since early March. According to figures cited in reports, more than 2,200 people have been killed and over one million displaced during the ongoing escalation.

Although a US-mediated ceasefire was announced in mid-April, authorities state that violations and military activity have continued despite the agreement, maintaining instability in the region.
