Israeli Soldiers Get Injured After Drone Strike in Southern Lebanon
In a statement, the army said the incident took place on Monday, noting that one soldier was seriously wounded while another sustained minor injuries “as a result of an explosive drone impact during operational activity in southern Lebanon.” It added that both soldiers were evacuated to hospital and their families had been informed.
On the same day, Hezbollah said it had launched two drone attacks targeting Israeli troops and military equipment. The group stated that the strikes were in response to what it described as Israeli violations of a recently agreed ceasefire, including attacks on southern Lebanese villages and the demolition of homes.
According to Lebanese official figures, more than 2,500 people have been killed and over 1.6 million displaced as a result of Israeli strikes across Lebanon since March 2.
A 10-day ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel came into effect on April 17 and was later extended by three weeks last Thursday, even as tensions and cross-border incidents have continued to be reported.
