Israeli Attacks in Southern Lebanon Leave Six Dead, Dozens Wounded

(MENAFN) At least six people were killed and 16 others injured in a new round of Israeli attacks targeting several areas in southern Lebanon on Saturday, according to reports.

Among the wounded were two Lebanese soldiers who sustained serious injuries when an Israeli drone struck their vehicle on a public road in the town of Aaiba in the Nabatieh region.

The Lebanese army said the soldiers were taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Reports indicated that multiple airstrikes also hit the town of Zibdine in Nabatieh district, while intense bombardment targeted areas near Shqeif Castle. In a separate incident, a drone strike in the town of Abba wounded two people.

According to reports, rescue teams recovered the bodies of two victims from a building in Burj al-Shamali in the Tyre district after it was struck by Israeli warplanes.

Reports further stated that an Israeli airstrike targeted the town of al-Lubiyah in the Sidon district, killing one person and injuring another.

The latest attacks occurred on the fourth day of the Eid al-Adha holiday and amid ongoing reports of Israeli breaches of the ceasefire agreement.
