Lebanon Accuses Israel of Violating Ceasefire Agreement at UN
Speaking during an emergency session of the UN Security Council on Lebanon, Arafa said Lebanon had fully respected the cessation of hostilities agreement.
"Lebanon adhered to the cessation of hostilities fully and completely," he said, adding: "In stark contrast, however, Israel persisted in its daily violations, and at times on a massive scale."
He further alleged that Israel is engaged in what he described as a sustained campaign of destruction across multiple areas, including residential zones and infrastructure.
According to Arafa, the strikes have affected villages, towns, and urban neighborhoods, along with medical workers, hospitals, journalists, schools, infrastructure, security services, UN peacekeeping forces (UNIFIL), places of worship, and archaeological sites recognized as part of Lebanon’s cultural heritage.
He argued that such actions risk weakening state institutions and obstructing what he described as efforts to “derail the resurgence of the state.”
